The killer Scorpion
Scorpions are living creatures. Things that are alive are like humans and creatures. Scorpions are invertebrates they have a backbone, which is called a spine. Most of the time they are solitary, which means they are alone. Sometimes they can be social (they are together with other scorpions) Scorpions live up to about 2-6 years.
Habitat
Most of them live in deserts and some can live in strange places. They can live under logs and rocks and even wooden boards. They can also be in bushes and trees.
Features
Scorpions have 8 legs with a venomous stinger on their tail. They have a sharp pedipalp to protect themselves from other insects and their predators. Scorpions are carnivores, which means they eat meat. Some Scorpions live as long as twenty five years.
Food and sleep
Scorpions eat insects like rodents, centipedes and lizards. They also eat spiders. They even eat other scorpions. They sleep in cool places and they can also sleep in damp places.
Predators
Scorpions are predators who consume all types of insects, spiders, centipedes and even other scorpions. Their predators are snakes, lizards and birds. There are also green anacondas which are huge snakes. Lions and tigers are predators to scorpions as well.
They run up to 19 kmph- kilometre per hour (12mph-miles per hour).
The importance of scorpions are to control other insects population.
